Rest in Rhymes: Big Pun’s Legacy 14 Years Later – Mix & Videos

Big Pun Mural - Bronx NYC

One of the great emcees of Hip-Hop passed on 14 years ago today February 7th. Big Pun (short for Big Punisher), whose name is mentioned along side other great emcees such as Rakim, Big Daddy Kane, Tupac, and The Notorious B.I.G. A skilled emcee, known for his use of alliteration, internal and multi-syllabic rhyming schemes, who at the time of his passing had two albums out; Capital Punishment (1998) and Yeeeah Baby (2000). Pun passed away while his music career was just about to take off into another level. His passing was not a result of conflict with any person, but a health condition. His publicized passing shook the Hip-Hop community, and it got people to take notice of their own health, if they hadn’t before. Below are some videos and a tribute mix by Mr Cee.
