I got my Solillaquists of Sound package weeks ago, but procrastinated on posting about it. I was too busy enjoying its contents to take a picture of it. In September they started a Kickstarter and raised $16,127. Their goal was $12,000. The campaign was to fund their double album, The 4th Wall. Big Pun (short for Big Punisher), whose name is mentioned along side other great emcees such as Rakim, Big Daddy Kane, Tupac, and The Notorious B.I.G. Sharing the same birthday as J Dilla today February 7th, is Japanese producer/DJ Nujabes. He too has passed on, from a tragic car accident in Tokyo, Japan on February 26, 2010. Nujabes’ sound is melodic, mellow, nostalgic and atmospheric. Nujabes also collaborated with many American Hip-Hop artists such CYNE, Cise Starr, Apani B, Five Deez, Substantial, CL Smooth, Fat Jon, Terry Callier as well as British rapper Funky DL.
