Artists David Young V, Eddie Colla and Hugh Leeman‘s art exhibition open’s February 7th, tomorrow at 111 Minna. Their mixed-media images are a prominent part of San Francisco’s street art. All three are prolific artists that go hard to not only go all city, but to maintain it. This exhibition is different since it’s the first time all three are showing together. Seeing their work collectively accentuates their creative differences and points of view. David Young V is a pen and ink artist that focuses on a post-apocalyptic world where the people build their ideas on the disjointed remnants of their history. Hugh Leeman’s new work is a great departure from his usual portraits. Here he delves into self exploration, trusting his instincts to create otherworldly paintings directly connected to his consciousness. Eddie Colla produces oppositional art that focuses on society and cross cultures.
We’ll have an exclusive interview with all three artists in the coming weeks. Peep their work below. After the preview there’s a collaborative piece Young did with frequent TMG graphics contributor, artist Sam Grant.
